Gentian (Gentiana lutea) is widely distributed in the mountains of Asia Minor, Central and Southern Europe. Gentian is a perennial herbaceous plant with a height of 40 to 100-150 cm. The whole plant is bare. The stems are branchless, up straight, hollow. The leaves are opposite, petiolate, whole-edge, widely elliptic. The stem leaves are short-stemmed to both ends, narrowed, ovoid-elliptical, pointed, and smaller than basal. The flowers are bisexual, regular, large, numerous, collected in inflorescences. Gentian blooms in July, bears fruit in September.

Suggested use and dosage: Shake well before using. For adults add about 20-30 drops (0.7-1 ml), one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) to some juice or water, up to 4 times a day. The best way to use liquid herbal glycerites is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Glycerites can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some glycerites are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.
